We are looking for a Utility Safety Advisor to act as a primary resource ensuring the Safety Program of Boudreau Pipeline is endorsed and complied with, during operational activities. The Utility Safety Advisor will support field staff to ensure safe operations that meet regulatory compliance. This role will communicate with Operations Management on related issues and initiatives.
• Visit job sites and conduct safety audits and observations across Southern California
• Prepare and present audit findings.
• Conduct job hazard analysis and help crews understand the importance of, and concepts of field level hazard assessments.
• Assist in the development of safe work practices and procedures.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to address health, safety and environmental related issues.
• Analyze health and safety data and provide recommendations as required.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis investigations (RCA), create reports accordingly.
• Recommend corrective actions and assist in timely implementation of the actions.
• Review and recommend modifications to program as required.
• Conduct safety training classes (Confined Space, Traffic Control, Excavation Practices).
• Must keep abreast of all applicable laws and regulations at all times.
• Other duties as required.
• Be fluent in Spanish. (Read and Write proficiently)
• Minimum of 4 years experience in safety.
• Utility Construction experience required.
• Be proficient in MS Office, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. (prior use of MS Teams a plus)
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. (English and Spanish)
• Be highly organized and able to work independently.
• Possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Be able to traverse rough walking and driving terrain on jobsites.
• Have moderate technical knowledge and skills.
• Have a valid class “C” driver’s license (must be able to pass driver background check)
• Be capable of planning and executing logistically effective driving routes between jobsites.
• Experience in the following areas would be highly desirable: Trench and Excavation, Confined Space, Temporary Traffic Control, Horizontal Directional Drilling operations, Telecommunication operations.
• CSO (Construction Safety Specialist), CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician), or other applicable qualification/designation is an asset.
• Complies with company policies and procedures.
• Performs job safely with respect to others, property and individual safety.
• Must be able to work and walk in physical location of crew sites.
• Must be able to work in adverse outdoor weather conditions

Pay Range: $26.98 - $44.97 per hour based on experience
