We are looking for an Electrician Laborer to join our expanding team!

The Mobile Home Park (MHP) Electrician Laborer is responsible for assisting in installing, repairing, maintaining and testing electrical systems while maintaining compliance with nationals, state and local electrical codes and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Properly follows all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Reports any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
  • Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and materials.
  • Follows direction of Foreman for daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite
  • May be called upon to run small power tools such as jack hammer, drills, grinders, etc.
  • Digs, spreads, and levels construction materials, tools and supplies.
  • Lifts, carries and holds material, tools and supplies.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components (not energized).
  • Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
  • Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as ammeters, or test lamps.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
  • Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets.
  • Construct or fabricate parts, using hand tools, according to specifications.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit or moving or lifting heavy objects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

SAFETY

  • Responsible for ensuring OSHA standards and company safety policies are always complied with including but not limited to operation of tools, equipment and machinery.
  • Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.

Qualifications

  • Current State of California Electrician Trainee certification required.
  • A minimum of two to five years of experience working as an electrician on residential, commercial and/or industrial projects.
  • Basic understanding of residential electrical codes and installation methods
  • Ability to verify compliance and functionality of installations. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately to learn products, processes, safety procedures, installation techniques and equipment use.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Pay range: $20.80 - $28.00/hr depending on experience
