We are looking for a Certified Electrician Foreman to join our expanding team! The Certified Electrician Foreman will be responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining and testing electrical systems while maintaining compliance with national, state, local electrical codes and all company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


• Control labor, material, supply, and equipment costs to assure the job is completed on schedule and within budget.
• See to it that all work is done in a safe and workman-like manner.
• See to it that all work is completed to BPC quality standards the first time with no need to do work a second time to correct problems.
• For every job, hold a pre-job meeting with the Field Superintendent to determine the schedule and sequence of job activities.
• Each week, plan the next week's job activities to determine the number of crew members needed each day to complete the work and schedule deliveries of materials, supplies and equipment when needed.
• Be completely clear on the job's Contract Scope of Work and see to it that any work done outside the Scope of Work is done with the Customer's representative authorizing additional payments for the additional work.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
• Always provide supervision and direction to all crew members. If an employee is not performing their work in a satisfactory manner, direct the employee to cease work, leave the job site and report to the Field.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
• Provides input on electrical systems for new construction as well as upgrading and replacement of current systems
• Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
• Direct or train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
• Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
• Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
• Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets.
• Construct or fabricate parts, using hand tools, according to specifications.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit or moving or lifting heavy objects.
• Other duties as assigned

 

SAFETY


• Responsible for ensuring OSHA standards and company safety policies are complied with at all times including but not limited to operation of tools, equipment and machinery
• Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately

Qualifications

  • Must hold current State of California General Electrician Certification
  • A minimum of two to five years of experience working as an electrician on commercial or industrial projects.
  • Solid understanding of residential electrical codes and installation methods
  • Ability to verify compliance and functionality of installations. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately to learn products, processes, safety procedures, installation techniques and equipment use
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Pay Range: $31.98 - $45.00/hr based on experience
