We are now hiring a Utility Services Foreman! This position is responsible for leading crews for installing, repairing, maintaining and testing electrical systems while maintaining compliance with nationals, state, local electrical codes and all company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Review weekly look-ahead with BUS Superintendent
  • Provide supervision and direction to all crew members at all times. If an employee is not performing their work in a satisfactory manner, direct the employee to cease work, leave the job site and report to the Field Superintendent for appropriate corrective action.
  • Monitor employee job performance, productivity, and the size of the work crew and increase or decrease the number of crew members to match job requirements. Immediately notify the BUS Superintendent of the availability of unneeded crew members so they can be assigned to other job sites.
  • See to it that all work is done in a safe and workman-like manner.
  • See to it that all work is completed to BUS quality standards the first time with no need to do work a second time to correct problems.
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, electrical pedestals, junction boxes, or other components.
  • Test and diagnose electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or megger device, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Work from ladders, or roofs to install electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Provides input on electrical equipment for new construction as well as upgrading and replacement of current systems
  • Direct or train workers to install conduit, or gas pipes under mobile homes, on walls, or in other confined areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
  • Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment
  • Assemble, install, and test electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
  • Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit or moving or lifting heavy objects.
  • Address residents, park manager, or utility company concerns or complaints in a courteous and timely manner.
  • testing and replacing existing gas leaks
  • checking for gas leaks using gas detecting devices
  • Coordinate and schedule materials and equipment with vendors
  • Other duties as assigned

               SAFETY: 

  • Responsible for ensuring OSHA standards and company safety policies are complied with at all times including but not limited to operation of tools, equipment and machinery
  • Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two to five years of experience leading crews of varying sizes in completion of electrical and/or gas work on private or industrial projects.
  • Ability to verify compliance and functionality of installations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately to learn products, processes, safety procedures, installation techniques and equipment use
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Good communication / customer service skills
  • Valid Drivers License and the ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures.
  • Performs job safely with respect to others, property and individual safety

 

Pay Range:  $33.82 - $38.00 per hour depending on experience
